Subscribing to an online DVD rental service was a great decision. I chose Blockbuster Online with the 14.99/month plan. I get two rentals at a time, unlimited rentals throughout the month, with 1 free in store rental each week. I was really getting pissed at the lack of selection in every store so I bit the bullet and tried it. In the 10 days I have had it I have seen....
The Shape of Things - ***.5 Happy Together - ***.5 Walkabout - *** The Limey - **.5 Green Street Hooligans - **
And Fallen Angels should be here in a day or too. There is also a distribution center a few miles from the apt so it does not take long for them to recieve my dvds. |

Man I love the Charlotte Comic Con, I am very close to finishing my Battle Pope collection, and the illustrator of Battle Pope Tony Moore was there, he signed my paperback copy. |

I am bored so I am going to type some shit about some films I have watched recently.
 Bad Timing Dir. Nicolas Roeg
My second Roeg film, and I liked it quite a bit. I love Roeg's work with the camera and the editing of the film keeps us very distant from the characters just how Art Garfunkel's character feels distant from everyone else in the film. The acting was great and I am suprised Art did not have a more successful film career. The soundtrack also kicked ass and was one of the reason's I bought the dvd blind, Tom Waits, The Who, Billie Holliday.
***.5/****
The Wicker Man Dir. Robin Hardy
A frustrating experience. I felt it was a very good idea done poorly and a little too campy for its premise. I loved how everyone involved in the religion seemed perfectly fine with it and they were not overly creepy people.
**/****
The Squid and the Whale Dir. Noah Baumbach
Fantastic little slice of life film with beautifully written characters, this is quirky done correctly.
***.5/****
X-Men: The Last Stand Dir. Brett Ratner
Awful dialogue, bad costumes, short runtime, horribly written plot line, Cyclops was useless and still a pussy, lack of visual continuity with the first two films, Halle Berry. Yeah, I didn't like it.

| | Notorious BIG/Frank Sinatra - "Juicy - New York, New York" | ] | So last night we were all partying, and I went over to Dylan's apt to smoke a hookah and he introduced me to the Notorious B.I.G./Frank Sinatra mix tape, it is pretty orgasmic and it is like listening to the tracks for the very first time. He also had AirTunes set up in the apartment and I must say that I am tempted to get it now. |

| | Bjork - Possibly Maybe | ] | Here is what my new apartment looks like, me and the roomates still need to put some more stuff in the living room. And about the huge Soviet flag, I am not a communist, I just found that flag cheap and thought it was pretty bad ass. And the Smirnoffs are not ours, they belong to my roomate's girlfriend.
